MICC Careers supports autistic and neurodivergent young adults in learning and developing valuable employment skills.
Your Path to Successful and Meaningful Employment Unlike our three-year, life skills College Program, the Careers SES Program offers a flexible and focused entry to MICC for individuals who have completed their high school education and are at least 18 years of age at the time of enrollment. WORKPLACE READINESS TRAINING
Workplace Readiness Training is designed for individuals with established independent living skills, looking to broaden their career readiness and gain important employment skills that can be applied to any industry.
INDUSTRY TRAINING: FOOD SERVICES AND HOSPITALITY
Ideal for those who may have a strong foundation of employment skills who are passionate about food service and hospitality, offering targeted skill development and direct employment pathways.

Post-training opportunities
Upon successful completion of one or both of the training sections, participants may connect with MICC's employment services team to start ongoing job retention services. Job retention services are not covered by VRS and must be paid through CDCS funding or private pay (out of pocket).

- Diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other cognitive differences or executive dysfunction.
- No significant behavior or emotional dysregulation.
- Have completed K-12 education.
- Not have a history of criminal activity that would preclude them from obtaining employment, as reported in application.
Candidate Characteristics
- Demonstrates strong motivation to participate in employment skills training and adaptive work experiences.
- Independent in living supports, medication management, and transportation.
- Previous experience with employment (e.g. has held a paid position for longer than one month).

SES admissions process
- Complete the online application and provide supporting documentation as requested.
- Tour MICC and interview with MICC's Careers team.
- Determinations will be decided by MICC's Careers Admissions Committee, which consists of Careers' Program Manager, Lead Instructor, and Lead Job Developer.
- Accepted candidates will complete MICC's enrollment and intake paperwork.

The total cost for each 8-week training is $5,760, and includes:
Payment Options
MICC's Financial Services Office works closely with participants to source various options and offers private-pay payment plans. At this time, MICC does not offer internal financial assistance for these training sessions.
Third-party funding options may be available through Minnesota state and/or county resources, such as waivers (CDCS option only). Contact your local county agency, and/or current case manager for information on how to use funding towards this program.
- All instruction and materials.
- Use of MICC facilities including industrial kitchen and classrooms.
- Staff supports (1:6 to 1:8 staff to student ratios).
- Program-related transportation.
