- We provide education, resources, and support on how families can afford MICC’s programs and connect participants to resources to help maintain independence post-graduation.
- We strive to support increased accessibility to MICC’s programs and reduce barriers to entry. Financial accessibility is vitally important to us, and we focus on empowering families by sharing available Federal, State, and County resources to help offset private pay costs.

If you are a MN resident and utilize waiver funding (CDCS option), many of these documents will be important to share with your support planner for approval of MICC courses and services.

MICC Need-Based Financial Assistance
MICC utilizes TADS, an independent evaluation service, to collect, audit, and summarize family financial information. The results are reviewed by MICC's designated internal Financial Assistance Committee to determine awards. The financial assistance application portal is open on the dates designated above. Here are the primary steps to apply for MICC Need-Based Financial Assistance:

- Visit www.mytads.com and click on ‘Financial Aid Assessment’ to begin
- Login or create a new account
- Select school by clicking through the State (MN) /City (Richfield) /School (Minnesota Independence College and Community) dropdowns
- Complete your application
- Submit documentation to TADS
- TADS collects a $60 fee to complete and review your application
- TADS will contact you directly if they require clarification or other required documentation to complete the audit of your application
- The application must be completed online. An optional worksheet is available to help you gather your required documents and information for the online application here.

We recognize the program is a significant financial commitment. MICC’s Financial Services team members have been hired and trained to specifically to support families with their unique financial situations. This team is comprised of professionals able to support prospective and current participants and families to provide information and resources related to funding, payment methods and payment plans, and third-party funding assistance. Our goal is for families to achieve financial readiness to participate in the program that may include a mixture of private pay, third-party funding, and financial assistance that will work for them.
